What is the difference between a Classic Manicure and a Spa Manicure?
Our
Classic Manicure that we offer consists of a pre-soak, cuticle removal,
a light application of moisturizer to replenish the skin, and is
finished off with a polish. Our Spa Manicure that we offer consists of
a pre-soak, cuticle removal, light application of a moisturizer and
mask accompanied by a light massage and an exfoliating scrub. This is
finished with a polish.
What is the difference between a Classic Facial and a Microdermabrasion?
Our
Classic facial is intended to relax facial tension and to leave your
skin feeling fresh and replenished. Our facial consists of a cleansing
and conditioning treatment, a skin analysis, facial massage, and
removal of impurities. A mask is applied to help with the removal of
impurities. This is great for those with sensitive or dry skin. Our
Microdermabrasion facial consists of gently abrasive crystals being
used in combination with airstream that gently removes the upper layer
of dead skin cells. This helps in bringing the healthy layer of
skin to the surface, which in turn encourages healthy cell
rejuvenation.
How often should I rebook for color? Here at Appearance Day Spa, we pride ourselves in providing the best color services. We recommend every 4-6 weeks
to maintain a healthy and beautiful color.
As hair grows in, the roots of the hair loose their color (which we
call regrowth).
It is important to maintain your hair color
with continuous appointments. This will keep your hair shiny and
prevent any
damage. How long does your hair have to
be to get a wax?
At least 1/4", so that the wax can adhere
to it (better too long than too short!). Hair that is excessively
long can be trimmed before waxing.
How long will it take before my
hair grows back from a waxing service?
Each person's hair grows at a different rate
and hair grows at different stages. Waxing is most effective
when hair is in its actual growing stage. Most people choose
to wax every 4-6 weeks. The more consistently and frequently
you wax, the more effective and eventually permanent the
hair loss becomes—and the less uncomfortable as well.
Hair growing back from waxing procedure is very fine and
natural, not stubbly.
What is your rescheduling policy?
We
confirm appointments 2 days in advance, as a courtesy to our clients.
To not interfere with anyone else's services, we need 24 hours in
advance to reschedule appointments. If you have multiple services
booked (i.e. spa package) we need at least 48 hours in advance to
reschedule your spa day. We hold to this policy to ensure that we
provide the best possible services to our valued clients.
I am looking to buy someone a gift card but I have no idea what to get them?
We offer a variety of options. We
have customized spa packages already made, which can be found under our
Spa
Packages section. We can also customize a package just for
you with the specific services you would like. If none of
these option suit what you are
looking for, we can make the gift card a dollar amount and the
recipient can choose
whatever services they would like.
How much should I tip ?
In the spa industry, the standard of
tipping is 18-20% of the service fee. Please do not hesitate to ask if
you have
any concerns. The salon coordinators will be more than happy to help you with this.
Why do some stylists charge different
prices?
All
of the stylists at Appearance Day Spa are highly trained professionals.
They are all trained in color as well as the variety of hair services
we offer here. Hair designer levels are a way for our stylists to grow
in our profession. Advancement comes after hard work and achieving many
different education requirements. The different levels reflect the
availability of the designer. The busier stylists will have higher
prices.
